Workshops:
Where plans become reality

Around 50 skilled craftspeople work in our workshops, including 18 site and workshop managers. They are organised across four trades: Carpentry, metalwork, electrical engineering, and paint finishing. Some have been part of our team for decades, others for just a few years. What unites them is not the same job, but a shared goal: Turning designs into projects that work, that last, and that convince.

Which trades a project passes through is entirely individual – sometimes all four, sometimes just one or two. Some components are produced in parallel, others in sequence. To turn this complex interplay into a finished project, workshop managers and site managers plan every step together. It is precisely this close coordination that transforms individual trades into a well-rehearsed team.

Where the sawdust flies: Our carpentry workshop

The carpentry workshop is the largest area in our production facilities. This is where load-bearing structures, built-in elements, furniture, and cladding come to life. The range of materials spans from chipboard and MDF to solid wood and veneer, all the way to multiplex, Dibond, and three-layer panels. But regardless of the material: Each has its own characteristics that need to be respected. Beech behaves differently to oak, MDF does not warp like solid wood, veneered panels require special edge treatments. Those who work here know which joints hold under which loads, how wood reacts to climate fluctuations, and where expansion joints are needed. The result: Components that do not simply come off a machine, but from the hands of skilled craftspeople who truly know their material.

Where colour makes its mark: Our paint workshop

Matt or glossy, opaque or translucent, on wood, metal, or plastic. In our paint workshop, every component receives the coating that suits its purpose. For this to work, the foundation must be right. MDF absorbs paint differently to metal, and a glaze requires a different approach than a high-gloss finish. True professionals work in the spray booth – people who understand these differences and know how to build up a surface so it flows evenly and lasts. Spray guns and airless systems support the process, but what really counts is the experience that controls layer thickness, flow, and texture. Between coats come sanding passes and drying times, executed with the same care as the application itself. Our painters know from experience when a surface is ready and when it still needs time. It is precisely this patience that makes the difference.

Where sparks fly: Our metal workshop

In our metal workshop, precision counts. Not just as a buzzword, but as a daily standard. Steel, stainless steel, and aluminium are cut to size, shaped on the press brake, and joined using TIG or MIG welding depending on the material. On the lathe and milling machine, components are created that must be perfectly matched so that everything remains structurally sound. Every part must function within the overall system and absorb forces exactly as planned. That is why our team thinks ahead, adapts, and continuously checks whether an element will perform exactly as intended in the final installation. This is what defines our metalwork team: Those who work here do not think in individual parts, but in systems.

Where the work is electric: Our electrical workshop

Without power, without control systems, without connectivity, no exhibition stand, showroom, or interactive installation works today. In our electrical workshop, cables are assembled, control units are wired, and systems are programmed. Whether 230V power supply, low-voltage LED technology, or data cabling for media systems. Every installation follows strict standards, every connection is tested. Displays need signal feeds, lighting controls work with DALI or DMX, interactive applications require stable networks. What later disappears invisibly behind walls must first be thought through, planned, and executed with precision. Our electricians master a craft that goes far beyond standard installations. They know the specifics of exhibition halls, work with changing conditions, and find solutions where no standard applies.

Production that does not come at tomorrow's expense

Sustainability does not start with disposal – it starts with material selection and planning. Across all trades, we work by the same principle: Source quality materials, plan with precision, minimise waste, repurpose offcuts. What remains is stored and kept ready for reuse.

On request, projects are designed to adapt to changing needs and requirements: Exhibition stands can be reconfigured for their next use, or interior designs can grow and shrink as teams expand or contract. Longevity is created through flexibility. What has truly reached the end of its life is disassembled, sorted, and returned to the material cycle.

When it comes to energy, our production facilities go their own way. Since 2013, we have generated our electricity through our own solar installation; since 2009, we have used waste heat from a biogas plant for heating.
