More than retail design:
When brands take shape
A showroom must persuade without pushing. A shop must guide without confining. We develop spatial concepts that turn this tension into an asset by connecting staging with functionality, brand presence with user experience, and design ambition with spatial clarity. The result: Spaces that don't just display brands, but make them tangible.
Retail spaces that turn brands into experiences
Whether minimalist concept store, vibrant experience world or modern boutique: At EuroShop 2023 and 2026, we realised over 1,000 m² of retail space for Wanzl, showcasing the full spectrum of purposeful retail architecture. Supporting brand logic, not just reflecting it. Guiding visitors, setting priorities, creating atmosphere. Clear structures, premium materials and precise lighting make this possible and turn the exhibition stand into a statement you can walk through.
One project, one point of contact, from start to finish
Retail design is translation. From brand strategy into material, from business model into spatial sequence, from budget into perceived value. For this translation to succeed, design, craft and operational processes must work together from the very beginning. Bringing all disciplines together isn't a claim of efficiency – it's the prerequisite for a process that truly works.
1. Consultation and concept development:
The starting point isn't the concept – it's understanding. Together, we thoroughly analyse business goals, target audiences and spatial conditions before developing initial approaches. This creates concepts that don't just convince aesthetically, but are built around feasibility and budget from day one.
2. Design development:
This is where strategy becomes space. We develop spatial impact, material mood and spatial sequences, making them tangible through 3D visualisations and material samples. Adjustments and feedback are an explicit part of the process before moving into technical planning.
3. Execution planning:
Our design-construction management team translates the design into precise workshop drawings, detailed plans and technical specifications. Interfaces between trades are clarified, materials are finalized – so nothing in production is left to chance.
4. Production and manufacturing:
Depending on project requirements, we produce bespoke elements in our own workshops or integrate high-quality standard solutions – often a well-considered combination of both. We make this decision together with you, transparently and with the overall budget in mind.
5. Installation and handover:
Because our installation team has been involved from the start, they know every detail and can confidently coordinate the entire implementation on site. We work around your operational schedules, minimise downtime and remain available as your point of contact even after handover.
Modular or custom-made – or both?
In retail design, a fundamental question arises early on – one that goes far beyond a design preference: Modular systems or custom-made solutions? Both approaches have their merits, both have their limits, and the right answer depends less on budget than on how a concept should evolve over time.
Modular systems excel at flexibility and forward-thinking planning. Display systems that can be reconfigured, installations that work across different areas and can be recombined as needed – this creates room for product range changes, redesigns and concept adjustments. For concepts that are meant to evolve, modularity isn't a design constraint but a commercially sound advantage that pays off multiple times over the lifespan.
Custom-made solutions, on the other hand, enable what systems by definition cannot: A space tailored to a brand in every detail. Custom-built installations, unconventional geometries, materials and finishes that no catalogue carries – these are the means by which a space becomes the unmistakable expression of a brand.
In practice, the combination of both often proves to be the smartest choice. A custom-made base structure that anchors the brand identity in space, combined with modular elements wherever flexibility itself becomes a design principle.
Translating brands into space, making their essence tangible while keeping our feet firmly on the ground – that's our strength. This mindset informs every project we deliver from Munich for companies across Bavaria and Germany.
