For IBC SOLAR, an exhibition stand was created at Intersolar 2024 that interpreted the Cradle-to-Cradle principle not merely as an ecological strategy, but as a design leitmotif. The architecture understands circularity as an aesthetic quality: Materials are not concealed but deliberately showcased – as visible components of a future-oriented design approach. Among nearly 3,000 exhibitors, this approach was recognised with the Sustainable Exhibitor Award in Gold.

The design addresses an audience that is attuned to material honesty, systemic thinking, and design precision. At the same time, it sharpens IBC SOLAR's brand communication: A sustainable exhibition stand does not create an add-on, but a consistent image that convincingly connects product messages, corporate values, and spatial identity. Architecture thus becomes a medium that does not explain sustainability but makes it tangible – thereby enhancing the communicative impact of the stand.

Key components of our concept:

  • PEFC-certified spruce, screwed rather than glued, to keep materials pure and usable in the long term

  • Graphics applied directly onto wood, removable by sanding without residue

  • An architecture that deliberately works without floor covering and structurally integrates technical elements

  • Reused aluminium tubes from previous projects, with closed-loop return processes

  • Large-format textile surfaces made from Trevira CS, embedded in a functioning circular system

  • Chemically recyclable acrylic glass for exhibits and messaging

Through this approach, the impact of the design expands: The spatial aesthetic does not stand in isolation but forms a coherent brand narrative. Sustainability becomes a strategic component of marketing, giving the stand a depth that extends beyond pure visual language.
